August 10th – Before the car was loaded on the trailer to be put in line, the team finished prepping the car and George spent some time practicing getting out of his harness and safety net constraints. Then the car was loaded on the trailer and put in line to run on Saturday.
August 11th – Race day, as George went on to the racers meeting at 9:00 a.m., the team rolled the Blowfish off the trailer onto the salt, prepared to make its “shakedown run”.
The Blowfish ran a 255.567 mph on the “shakedown run”. After the run the team analyzed the performance data and began to make some adjustments to the exhaust system, preparing to run again on Sunday morning.
August 12th – Sunday morning the Blowfish was ready to make its second run.
The Blowfish ran approximately 269 mph, exceeding the record it set last year (255.5 mph). On its second run the Blowfish experience some additional engine problems. The team began going over the data once again to determine additional adjustments.
August 13th – The team is currently working on resolving some engine issues, deciding whether or not to run again or bring the Blowfish home to make the necessary repairs and adjustments to the engine. We will be waiting to here from the team on if the Blowfish will make another run. We will keep you updated.
